The school where you'll find your place.

Accounting, languages, IT and business – with teachers who know you by name. Four years after which you know what you can do and have it on paper too: a maturita (school-leaving exam), an English certificate and work experience in a company.

What we do best

You don't have to take our word for it. Just look at the results.

Six things that set Obchodní akademie (Business Academy) apart – each backed by real names, competitions and numbers.

Keyboard typing World champion

Ten fingers, world-class level

As our student, Roman Hlaváček became junior world champion in audio transcription (2022) and Czech champion in spoken-word recording (2025). Graduate Jitka Mrázková has held the world record of 928 keystrokes per minute since 2003. You can learn it here too.

Financial literacy 1st in the region

The best in the Central Bohemian Region

In the financial game Zlatý Gramoťák we won the Central Bohemian Region in January 2026 and finished third in the whole country. In the Financial Game, our team took national silver.

Accounting in practice Czech final

Accounting you can actually use

Two of our students advanced to the national final of SLUTO MÁ DÁTI – DAL 2026, one of the most prestigious accounting competitions in Czechia. You learn bookkeeping in POHODA, software used by real companies.

Languages 2 + Cambridge

Two foreign languages and a certificate instead of the exam

English plus German, Spanish, French or Russian. We are an official Cambridge English test centre – in December 2025, 39 students took exams here. A B2 certificate replaces the school-set part of the maturita.

Work placements 4 weeks

Work placement in a company – even in Germany

In year 3 you spend four weeks in a real company. Up to six students every year go on a placement at the partner school BBS1 in Goslar and bring home a Europass.

IT and modern teaching CZK 3.5 million

New classrooms, laptops, 3D printing

Over the past year we invested CZK 3.5 million in equipment: 56 new computers, 30 laptops, interactive panels and two 3D printers. In the HAXAGON cybersecurity competition we placed fourth in the country.

The school in numbers

334students in 12 classes – enough for a good crowd, too few for anonymity
90places in the first years (60 OA + 30 lyceum)
+39applications compared with last year – interest grows year by year
5specialisations to choose from in year 2

Life at Obchodka

School is not just lessons. And here that's doubly true.

An orientation trip right in September. Suit Up Day, when the whole school comes dressed up. The EDURUN school run with students and graduates. A futsal league, a ski trip, trips to Paris and Andalusia, a drama club and our own magazine Merkuroviny.

  • A bullying-free environment. The school psychologist, the educational counsellor, the career adviser and the prevention coordinator are there for you every week.
  • You have a say. The Student Parliament and the 30 000 do škol project: students themselves propose and vote on how the money is spent.
  • Places to relax. Chill-out zones, a coffee corner, a study room with a library, a gym and a school garden.

Obchodní akademie × ABSOLVENTI.cz

Real projects, real contacts. From the very first year.

We have worked with the ABSOLVENTI.cz platform since 2020. Through it, students carry out projects for the school and the town, speak at national conferences and build a network of contacts among more than 3,000 Obchodka graduates.

  • The school garden, the sign on the building, the memorial place for Dr. Beneš – designed by students, who raised the money themselves.
  • EDURUN – a run for students and graduates, organised entirely by first-years every year.
  • #ČESKObudoucnosti and Talent Česka – students on the organising team and on stage.
  • The ABSOLVENTI app – CV, portfolio, StudentKarta and mentors from among the graduates.

Our graduates

Paths lead anywhere from here

To university, to a company, to your own business – or to the summit of Kilimanjaro.

This school gave me an extremely solid foundation for life. […] I decided to enrol in the same school as my friends from primary school. I wouldn't change a thing.
Tomáš Vlčekgraduate of 2015, coach, world record holder for climbing Kilimanjaro
The work placement helped me better understand how accounting works in practice. It was a great experience that helped me decide to continue in this field.
Kateřina Sýkorovágraduate, work placement at Zítková a spol.

928 keystrokes/minThe 2003 world record in keyboard typing, which nobody has beaten to this day. Plus nine world champion titles. She took her maturita with us – back then still at the Střední ekonomická škola Slaný.

Ing. Jitka Mrázkovágraduate, chair of INTERINFO ČR
