Obchodní akademie – digital twin
A hundred years of tradition. Still one step ahead.
The business school in Slaný was founded in 1922 and our historic building has served students since 1932. Today it is a modern school with 334 students, new classrooms and results we can be proud of in the region and in the whole country.

SLUTO MÁ DÁTI – DAL 2026
Two students advanced to the final of one of the most prestigious accounting competitions in Czechia (Znojmo, March 2026).
Roman Hlaváček
Junior world champion in audio transcription (Maastricht 2022) and Czech champion in spoken-word recording 2025.
HAXAGON Skirmish 2025
National cybersecurity competition: 3rd place in the Central Bohemian Region, 4th in the country.
eTwinning Quality Label 2026
For the international project ECO Business Connection – Trade Without Waste with a Slovak partner school.
Financial Game
Three students led their virtual family all the way to the national final and won silver.
Cambridge English
In December 2025, 39 students took the B2 First and C1 Advanced exams at school. We are an official test centre.
Klára Cibulková
A first-year student of the Obchodní akademie (Business Academy) won three Czech champion titles in acrobatic fitness in November 2025.

EKOTÝM 2026
On 14 October 2026 we host the regional round of the Economic Team competition for 11 teams from all business academies in the region.
Modernisation 2023–2025
A school that is not afraid to invest
Over three years the school has been transformed: a new lecture hall, a multi-purpose classroom, a study room with the school library, cloakrooms, relaxation zones and a wayfinding system.
- CZK 3.5 million in the Innovation in Teaching 2025 project
- 26 + 30 All-in-One computers in two computer labs
- 30 laptops with a charging cabinet and two 3D printers
- Interactive panels in two new classrooms for languages and split-class teaching
- 10 laser projectors in the old building
History
From a merchants' school to the Academy
The school has borne the name of Dr. Edvard Beneš since 1937. After forty years of other names it returned to it in 1992.

Merchants' continuation school
On 2 November 1892 teaching of future merchants begins in Slaný.

Business school
After Czechoslovakia is founded, the merchants' school becomes a business school.

New building
The historic building on today's Smetanovo náměstí opens. Its physics classroom from that time is still in use as a showpiece.

Czechoslovak Business Academy of Dr. Edvard Beneš
The school gains the status of a business academy and an honorary name.

1960–1992
Secondary School of Economics
After February 1948 the school loses its name; from 1960 it is called Secondary School of Economics.

Return to tradition
The school returns to its original name, and in 1994 a new building is approved for use.

An inscription for the future
Students of the then class 2. B ran a fundraiser and after more than 70 years returned the historic inscription with the school's name to the building.
